Why we built this — and who it's for.
My first back spasm hit at 21. It took me out for several days — which felt like the end of the world at the time. I had no idea it was just the beginning.
Twenty years later, I suffered a massive disc herniation at L5/S1. What followed was a long road of injections, surgeries, and recovery. I still live with sciatica and chronic back pain. Add in a fully separated shoulder (one surgery there too), bad ankles, knees, and hips — and some days just getting through the day is the win.
But here's the thing: I still forge ahead. I've given up basketball, but I still mountain trail hike and weight train. My goal is simple — stay in the game as long as I can.
I always wanted an app to track my harder pain days and find correlations. Did the long hike last weekend cause this flare? Does a bad night of sleep always lead to a bad pain day? Is the stretching actually helping?
I tried the apps that were already in the store. None of them fit what I needed — they were either too simple, too clinical, or just didn't think like someone who actually lives with chronic pain.
So I built 4rge. Track your pain and your activity, and after 30 days of data, let AI find the patterns that are actually specific to you — not generic advice you've already heard a hundred times.
Your health data is deeply personal. Everything in 4rge is encrypted on your phone and in the cloud if you choose to back up. We don't sell your data. We don't share it. It's yours.
I built this with users in mind. If something doesn't work the way you need it to, I want to know. If there's a feature that would make a real difference in your day, tell me. Send feedback to support@use4rge.com — I read every message.
